If you’ve spent any time shopping online you’re all too aware that a website may have financial motives for writing what they do. It makes you wonder if you’re getting the best deal possible because you know that the website is getting a kickback if you follow through with your purchase.

Natural Search Doesn’t Pay
Finding an online store via search engine virtually guarantees that you will pay full price for an item. That’s because the online store has either paid for exceptional SEO services to reach top spot in the search engines OR you typed in their URI directly OR you’re landing on an affiliate review that will take a fee from any sale after redirecting you to the store.

Reading Reviews Doesn’t Pay
Same scenario – you read a product review and decide to buy. The person writing the review may be an affiliate and will take a percentage of to proceeds from any sale. The online store can’t give you much of a discount because they have to pay the affiliate who is making the sale possible.

So what does pay?
Coupons! Online coupon codes are a blessing in disguise. You see, the online retailer sells products on their website at full price. They sell them on affiliate websites and pay affiliate commisions on final sales… but YOU could pocket that cash while making a purchase because the online store doesn’t care who gets the kickback so long as they get the sale!

How do I find coupon codes?
I stumbled upon a coupon site a moment ago (It’s not my site and I’m not an affiliate) that promotes Amazon coupon codes. You can find similar sites for your favorite online store if you don’t shop at Amazon but I’m using it as an example. The site is dedicated to collecting discount coupon codes and reports them as new codes are released. Most codes are time sensitive and not all codes give you much of a saving but if you search a little you can find some golden gems of a deal.

How much can I save by using coupon codes?
The answer – a LOT. Imagine having just bought that Sony TV you’ve always wanted and then finding this coupon code that would have saved you 500.00 or 530.00 depending on the TV you picked. Would you be kicking yourself? I would. Coupon codes are not something retailers advertise openly unless they want to clear out inventory, instead retailers have become smart and attempt to target the coupon code to the frugal shopper that won’t buy unless he/she gets a great deal. Retailers WANT the rest of us to pay full price, don’t be one of those suckers ever again.
