Update: Begining May 1st Popular Wealth will post an update that gives credit to the people who dropped the most cards on Popular Wealth during the previous month. In addition, if anyone wants to donate a minimum of 250 credits or more towards the giveaway and receive special mention, click here and give credits to this site (include a note with your sites uri). Surplus credits will be divided in two. 50% going to promote the giveaway via ads, 50% as bonus prizes in Dec.

Popular Wealth will begin giving away credits daily starting Valentines day and continue all year long until Christmas. The prize breakdown is as follows.
- 700 credits per day, every day, 100 to each of 7 random lucky winners.
- 3000 credits per month. 1000 to each of 3 random lucky winners.
- 250,000 credits on Christmas Day. 50,000 to each of 5 random winners.
What started out as a simple entrecard review of Graham Langdons social advertising network has exploded into a full blown marketing experiment here at Popular Wealth. You only get what you put into things and I am so impressed by the potential of entrecard that I’m going to give it a 100% effort. An extremely detailed report is planned for the end of 2008, until then Popular Wealth subscribers benefit daily.
Here are some answers to questions you may have…
Q: How do you get so many credits?
A: Friends - several of us are partnering in this experiment and we get them exactly like you do. We visit websites and we run an entrecard shop.
Q: Are you affiliated with Entrecard?
A: No, I just can’t say enough about Grahams brainchild though and I want Popular Wealth subscribers to benefit from my marketing study while I run it.
Q: Why are you only asking for people to sign up to your RSS and not leave comments or write reviews etc.?
A: I believe in natural comments and reviews, what I really want is your ear. Popular Wealth isn’t about money, wealth in general isn’t money. It’s knowledge, it’s friends, it’s countless other intangiable things and it existed long before money. If you enjoy reading articles ranging from funny pictures to getting better rankings by managing internal pagerank to understanding blog warfare for example you might enjoy Popular Wealth. Thats my goal.
Q: What if someone comes up with a bigger contest?
A: That would be great, we’re not competing, but we may raise the stakes a bit as this unfolds. As people accumulate more entrecard credits they may be able to purchase big ticket items from the shop and I may just add a few myself.
Q: Why Valentines day to start and Christmas to end?
A: Valentines day is the perfect day to start sharing the wealth isn’t it? And receiving presents is part of Christmas no? I’m dedicating 10 months to this project. If it’s a success I may begin a new one next year, who knows.
Q: What if I win once, can I win more?
A: Absolutely, nobody is removed if they win, if you’re really lucky you may win several daily, a couple of monthly and an end of year prize too. The sooner you subscribe, the more you can potentially win. Winners will be chosen completely at random by picking a number from 1 to (insert current subscriber count here) and counting down the list until we reach that person.

Update - feedburner uses a double registration process, they send you a confirmation email to verify that you are subscribing. Be sure to respond to that to become active on the list!
Also, if this page begins to fill with comments and the page load time suffers too much I may close comments temporarily. You can always leave a comment over on the Entrecard Review page.
Lastly, due to privacy policy restrictions with Popular Wealth and with Feedburner I won’t be able to display the daily winners email addresses. I will however ask the monthly and yearly winners via email if they mind my mentioning them/their blogs. If you receive credits and feel compeled to say thanks, or would like to be mentioned in future updates, leave a comment on the review page or via the entrecard message system directly.

Great contest however if you are using it to gain subscribers … I don’t know how much success you will have as if people join your list and never actually read the emails … well then … you won’t be gaining anything as Feedburner won’t count them if they don’t open the email. Just a thought.
And a good thought that is. As mentioned this isn’t just a giveaway, it’s a marketing study, enjoy the testing for effect

What info do you want to get from this study?
All of the usual general metrics plus a lot of of data related to entrecard itself and to newer blogs. Having the contest run for so long also gives time to study the effects of minor changes to blog, to advertising (or lack of), and to about a dozen other things. I can’t let the cat out of the bag much more than that without compromising the end result. It will be worthy, you’ll see.
