GT500 is the top class in the Super GT racing series with an allowed 500 Base Horsepower (BHP) per race car. A Honda NSX won top spot in 2007 for both the driver and team championships and that just didn’t sit well with Nissan. Take a look at their response, the 2008 Nissan GT-R, a true high performance race car.

Production Model 2008 Nissan GT-R Skyline

The production model 2008 Nissan GT-R, nicknamed “Godzilla”, sports a toned down appearance when compared to its race version mentor but retains sleek and distinctive features that won’t allow you to forget its race inspired bloodline. Some love the look, some don’t, but one common ground everyone seems to agree upon is how solid the Nissan GT-R is on the road.
Performance engineered aerodynamic features combined with a longer and wider stance (compared to its production class competitor the Porsche) ensure the GT-R stays firmly planted on the road at any speed. With a reported top speed of 193 miles per hour thats saying a lot. Aftermarket performance upgrades are available and 1000+ horsepower is not unatainable.
Suspension is controlled with the help of a special Bilstein DampTronic system which evaluates current vehicle performance information and provides appropriate damping forces as required. The active suspension system helps maintain a high degree of control in almost all driving conditions.
