Description : Optimal Title Extreme is based on the popular Optimal Title plugin by Aaron Schaefer and mirrors the function of wp_title() while removing the separator, spaces and blog name from posts, pages and archives. Your blog likely already ranks well for its own name and so adding that name to every post serves to dilute the title of those posts. This SEO plugin helps reduce the number of titles that are cut off in search engine listings due to the extra length of your post titles. “my topic title” for example is much better than “my topic title > my site name” when your titles contain 5 or more words or your site name is lengthy or contains multiple words.

Editor Notes:
#1- Simply removing 'bloginfo('name')' instead of using this plugin is not enough to accomplish this SEO upgrade since two spaces would remain in the new title. Heres an example.

#2- Read up on “wp_title” in general at http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/wp_title.
#3- Why use a title plugin such as this one or the original by Aaron instead of just changing the wp_title function on my blog? Because changing any function directly on your blog will result in needing to repeat the exact changes after every upgrade. Leaving core code intact is always ideal.
#4- Aarons original version has the added valuable benefit of “branding” your site name onto every post title. That being said people rarely search for a term and then add your site name into their search. As such your site name does little from a title SEO perspective and it might cost you some exact match search visitors. Try Extreme, you can always change back.
#5- Disclaimer. Using ANY wordpress title meta tag plugin will change the title of your posts. I am not responsible for the effects that might have on your existing search engine rankings, good or bad. Search engines take time to update, it can take up to several weeks to see changes with some search companies. This plugin has been used extensively by me with good results but I cannot and do not guarantee rankings of any kind. Leave a comment with questions or concerns.
#6- Why am I releasing this? Because I think its of value to wordpress users and this is the format in which the general use license says I must use when releasing new versions of wordpress code.
