07-14-2008

When Dave and Ryan set off on a cross country road trip covering 800 miles and 17 beautiful counties in Ireland they brought their Nikon D50 digital camera along so that we can all enjoy wonderful pictures of Ireland. Thanks guys!

1. The Cliffs of Moher
The Cliffs of Moher, Ireland
Located on the edge of the Burren area in County Clare, Ireland, the Moher Cliffs are a majestic and very popular Ireland travel ‘must see’ destination.

2. The Cliffs of Moher - Scale

This photo gives a better sense of scale, do you see the people standing on the cliffs edge? Moher Tower at Hags Head is visible in the background.

3. O’brien’s Tower
Obrien's Tower, Ireland
O’brien’s Tower, also visible in picture #1, was built by Sir Cornelius O’Brian in 1835 to serve as a tourist look-out. On a clear day you can see the Aran Islands and the Hills of Connemara. Interesting fact: over 1 million tourists visited the cliffs in 2006, it’s definitely a must see travel destination at least once in your lifetime. Ireland is breathtaking !

Unknown Photographer in Ireland
A very strong image of an unknown photographer taking in the beauty of Ireland. This image is near perfect in that it is simple yet sends a strong message. Stop and look at the beauty that surrounds us. There is much more to Ireland than in this article, the cities, the nightlife, the gardens and ancient villages but I hope this picture set peaks your interest. Ireland is Beautiful!

Spectacular photos. I have been to Blarney Castle and Inchydoney Beach and the cliffs of Moher. They are just as spectacular as on the photos.

You captured her beauty for sure. I was in Dublin and Wicklow in 1998.
It was my first venture and a most memorable one. But the food is another story :)

Wow - I’ve heard a lot of people talk about Ireland’s coasts being very beautiful, but I never realized just how beautiful they really are until I saw these pictures. Thanks for sharing!

Those are some fantastic shots there. Pity you don’t seem to have ventured further north. Northern Ireland is well worth a visit. The drive up the Antrim coast road from Belfast to the North Antrim coast and the world heritage site ‘The Giants Causeway’ is absolutely spectacular.

You hug the coast the whole way up the north east face of Ireland and you can see scotland (only 20 miles away). You’ll drive through every type of landscape Ireland has to offer within about 3 leisurely hours. Well worth it.

Your photographs are so beautiful. I love how you even thought of scaling the photographs by comparing the sizes of the cliffs to the people on it!

I’ve always wanted to visit Ireland, for no particular reason why—but now you gave me more reason to!

Great blog! Thanks for sharing!
Best!
