Residual Income - Chitika And Google Search Tip
What is residual Income ?
residual income is best described as money earned from a prior effort not directly needing additional effort. An example of residual income would be royalties earned from a book. A writer took the time to write his or her book (the effort) however the additional royalties being earned come from the effort of others (no additional work for the writer). Royalties might happen when someone else “borrows” the books ideas, perhaps in creating a movie adaptation, and they pay the author for that privilege.
residual Income From Your Blog
residual income on the internet comes from many places including advertising premiums and affiliate sales. Creating a steady blog income is not a simple task and requires a lot of preparation and planning, more so than most new bloggers may realize. It’s not easy to make money online, but it IS easy to apply some proven practices to increase your blogs residual income in small steps.
Maximize blog income by combining Chitika with Google Search
Most everyone who has gone online knows about Google search so I’ll spare you that explanation but I want to explain the benefits of installing Google search on your blog or website. Chitika on the other hand is less well known so I’ll elaborate. Chitika offers bloggers an advertising platform in which they can place ads on their site and earn revenue without directly needing to manage or maintain the ads being displayed. Chitika takes care of everything from finding advertisers to paying the blogger his commissions. Now, onto the tip…
Chitika premium allows you to monetize SEARCH ENGINE TRAFFIC ONLY. The code provided by Chitika results in advertising being displayed only if the visitor came to your blog from a search engine. Regular visitors who visit the site directly won’t see the ads. The benefits to this are many including…
- Regular visitors can’t get annoyed by ads they don’t see
- Search visitors are looking for something and more likely to click through
- Chitika Premium doesn’t hog existing valuable ad space
- 100% compatible with adsense (it’s not contextually targeted)
- the visitor is guaranteed to see ads related to his/her searched term
My residual Income Tip of the Day
Since the Chitika Premium ads depend on a US based visitor entering a search term in a major US based search engine before displaying anything it’s a good idea to add Google Search (Or Yahoo, or MSN, whichever you fancy) to your blog or website. The Google adsense program makes it easy to have you blogs search function be powered by Google, they provide the code in your adsense control panel. When someone uses the search function on your site the Citika ads will appear increasing the chance of earning a little more income each time.
Is Chitika Premium as good as the hype? Here’s my experience.
Jeff, my rep with Chitika, contacted me and asked if I’d like to test run Chitika premium. I love to try new ways of making money so I accepted and quickly added the code for a 728×90 sized banner to the very top of the page on one of my hobby sites. It doesn’t bother regular readers at all but if someone is looking for something, which is always the case when they use search, ads they might actually find useful appear.
The results: The site generates many thousands of impressions from search per month and the immediate impact on my income was excellent. I saw no ill effect to adsense earnings, visitor retention or performance for sponsors. Perfect placement, excellent results, it’s like finding lost money!
It gets better, Jeff sent me a massage letting me know that a small placement change might improve results further, the very top of the page isn’t ideal for the 728×90. Moving it down to immediately after the page title increased performance even more. What I like best about the new program is that the ads appear when someone is looking for something and they look like they belong. Very helpful, isn’t that what websites are all about?
I definitely recommend you Give Chitika Premium A Try.
Disclaimer: I cannot and do not speak on behalf of Google, I’m basing my opinion that Chitika Premium is 100% compatible with adsense on the fact that adsense terms and conditions do not appear to prohibit this kind of advertising and the many people who use it have not reported having any problems with Google as a result of using Chitika Premium. As always, please do your own research before modifying your site. Have you tried it yet? Results?
