On May 17th, 2008, I added another must have tool to the top blog tools of 2008 list. This time it’s Logo Design software by Laughingbird Software.

A pleasant blog design often includes some great logo design work but not every webmaster or blog owner has hundreds of dollars to spend on hiring a proffesional logo designer (or thousands of dollars to buy a copy of Adobe’s full photoshop studio array of products).

There are a lot of free and low cost alternatives on the web but after taking the laughinbird logo creator software for a test run I’m going to recommend it highly. It’s not free, it costs 29.95, but the cost is minimal and when compared to the cost of hiring a proffesional… you earn your money back after creating just one logo.

Most free and low cost design software that requires no knowledge of photoshop to use ends up looking like just that, cheap, and your visitors will know. I love the logo design software from Laughingbird because it’s easy to use and the end result doesn’t look tacky. It can even help you improve the look of your portfolio, it’s that well polished. Unlike some programs with confusing instructions you’ll find this software easy to use, it’s all done in a step by step manner with a handy “undo” button.

Make money by designing your own templates
I use the latest version of photoshop thanks in part to Adobe’s lifetime reduced cost upgrades but I still have a dozen other programs that I find helpful like 3DStudioMax. It puts a smile on my face to know that I’ve now added some software that costs less than 30 dollars onto my computer next to software that costs thousands and it BELONGS there. If you’d like to make money while working on your own templates or designs this logo creator software has an affiliate program AND you can set up your own website to display your creations in hopes of finding a few clients.
