Wrath of the Lich King Hits Store Shelves Today
Tuesday, January 20, 2009 22:28The EXTREMELY popular World of Warcraft released the long awaited expansion pack “Wrath of the Lich King” today and I was talking to my nephew about it. He’s so excited he can hardly contain himself what with new cool weapons and armor and new instance dungeons, but surprisingly he had one gripe and I decided to write an article about it.

Levels !! The limit has been raised from a maximum of 70 levels per character up to 80 levels. To existing players with level 70 characters this means needing to raise 10 levels in experience and outfit the character will all new gear which will take most players many months to complete…. but what about new players?
The expansion will undoubtedly draw new players into the game who face the daunting task of raising a new character 80 levels which will take many months of daily play (and likely twice as long to get the best gear). There is a way however to bypass the level grind and receive full access to all of the games features. That method is to buy an account from a player who’s called it quits.
I looked around and found several sites like this one where you can buy world of warcraft accounts that let you purchase existing accounts. I chose that example because the site has a live character preview feature, you can look at each piece of armor and every skill before buying. The OTHER reason I chose that site as an example is because they transfer accounts through the OFFICIAL transfer method allowed by Blizzard Entertainment, makers of WoW.
Spending 400.00 on a new account seems like a lot but when you consider the many (MANY) months of playtime you’re bypassing it’s not as much as it seems and you can always start a new character on the account if you simply must level from zero again. I’d love to hear feedback about the expansion too but I doubt anyone will take a minute out of warcraft to write a comment, ![]()
