Top 10 Reasons Why New Blogs Should Try Stumbleupon
I launched Popular Wealth barely two weeks ago and the response has been amazing so far. I own other sites on topics that interest me that rank top 20 in Google for their primary keywords (out of 70+ million results) and I enjoy whitehat SEO so I thought I’d run organized tests on social networks this time around. I can release some of my findings now since one of the experiments was to find out which social networks helped NEW blogs the most.
As you can see on the graph above I received 1,360 visits from Stumbleupon members spread out over a 6 day period. I intentionaly self stumbled the Popular Wealth home page and hand picked 5 articles to do the same with and those were the results. Keep in mind that I used the site as intended, I stumbled other stuff I liked on other sites, I networked with some members etc…
What stands out to me the most about the graph is that the stumbleupon bounce rate, which is the percentage of people who leave after seeing just one page, is rediculously low for a brand new blog. The bounce rate was 48.75% and I STRONGLY suspect it would have been much lower if the site was older, had more content etc. Believe me when I say that a brand new site receiving well over 1,000 visitors at a bounce rate well below 50% from one source this fast (for FREE) is HARD TO BEAT. I’d suggest new blogs try the service but use it properly, don’t stumble all your stuff and DO stumble quality stuff from other sites. Here are the top 10 reasons why.
