Toyota Camry Dealer Helps Google Help Them
05-22-2008
May 22nd, 2008 - Earlier today I wrote an article on how a top notch company can hurt it’s bottom line with poor web practices. Now lets visit a company, Toyota Camry Virginia, that maximizes on their web presence to drive sales.

Toyota Camry’s are an excellent make of vehicle and as you’d imagine sales commisions can be lucrative so why not team up with Google to get the most out of your web presence like Koons toyota has. Koons was very aware that visitors using Google search as an entry point are much more likely to be interested in buying a Toyota than cold calls or ads on other sites. Thats because the visitor was already motivated to begin with.
What would you type in if you are looking for a new Toyota Camry? Koons or Toyota Camry? More than likely Toyota Camry followed by your city name… which is what Koons tells Google they are all about in Virginia. There is no deception, that is exactly what Koons is about - Toyotas in Virginia.
A closer look at the site reveals several other things that will further drive sales. Great deals of course, without them any site is hard pressed to convert but it takes more than great deals to impress Google. The site, much like the sales team, is extremely informative and can answer almost any question you have about the vehicle and the buying process. A+ for that as well.
A closer look at Google results reveals what you’d expect to find from a search engine friendly website, first page results! Toyota Fairfax VA, Arlington Virginia Toyota, Alexandria VA Toyota, Tysons Corner Toyota and several other solid search terms return page one results for the Koons website. Try typing in Camry Virginia… numero uno. By helping Google find exactly what it needs to via proper use of text, placement, lack of javascript and flash etc. it’s likely that the website will bring in many, many more potential buyers than the site I wrote about this morning.
Actually I DO have two knocks against the website afterall. #1 - when I click on the link to see the list of Camrys for sale, I see Toyota Scions first but thats because they have so many cars to sell… which I suppose is a good thing and #2 - I’m now considering buying a Camry myself.
Check back later this month when I cover one of the tactics Koons Toyota is using (multiple sites dedicated to a small subject to drive traffic vs one mega site that covers everything). There is a right way, and a wrong way, to do that as well. Toyota anyone?
